The history of the house
A preserved Creole residence in the heart of Saint-Pierre
The villa is believed to have been built by the Falaise family in the early 19th century. Its architecture reflects successive changes, including an extension during the 1820s or 1830s, while retaining the key principles of the Réunionese Creole house.
Denis and Myriam Levesque purchased the property in 1997. Together with their children, they have devoted more than twenty-five years to its restoration and to preserving its family character.
The house, its grounds and its enclosure walls have been listed as historic monuments by decree of 14 August 2000. Its official heritage name is « Maison Levesque »; Villa Myriam is the name of the guest house that welcomes you there today.
Saint-Pierre just steps away
Villa Myriam is located in the centre of Saint-Pierre. The covered market, shops, restaurants and seafront are all within walking distance. This location lets you enjoy the town while finding, behind the property walls, the calm of the garden.
A tropical garden in the middle of town
The garden surrounds the house and forms a green haven sheltered from the bustle of the town centre. Guava trees, latan palms, allamandas, frangipanis, coffee shrubs, bamboo and a dragon’s blood tree line the paths, terraces and resting spots.
Local wildlife finds refuge here too. Mynas, Madagascar turtle doves and white-tailed tropicbirds all add to the lively atmosphere of the place.
A pool at the heart of the garden
The outdoor pool measures 9 × 4 m and is about 1.20 m deep. It is available to guests and shared between the rooms. Sun loungers and a terrace let you enjoy the garden between swims.
The pool is heated during the austral winter. It is not heated during the austral summer, when the water temperature does not require it.

Today’s comfort in a historic house
Every room has air conditioning, a ceiling fan, Wi-Fi and a private bathroom. Housekeeping is provided daily. These amenities were integrated with the greatest possible respect for the architecture and atmosphere of the house.
A family-run guest house
Villa Myriam bears the first name of Myriam Levesque. The four rooms pay tribute to the women of the family: Coralie, their daughter, and Muriel, Chloé and Marie, their daughters-in-law.
This choice expresses the family history of the place and the wish to pass on a house that is alive, welcoming and deeply connected to Réunion Island.
